Crystal Meth Withdrawal

Last updated 31 October 2026

Caught, between now and the next thing.
In an ever present, paralysing moment.
An anxious, paranoid, crippling moment.
Unable to do anything of value.
My mind, locked in inactivity: De-realised.
Incapable, or unwilling, to face the truth.

The past haunts, like a spectre of unrealised exposure.
The future beats, heavily, as a silent drum.

Relentless, enduring, inescapable anxiety.
Pounding my chest, weakening my limbs, confusing my mind.
I ache for the compassion born of love.
But there is no one left to care for the carer.

My body contorts in yoga-esq positions.
Trying, unsuccessfully, to find relief in posture.
My mind ruminates on endless problems.
Trying to find mastery in repetition.

Both body and mind need action.
Yet all they manage, at best, is distraction.
And pitifully ineffective distraction at that.
